Final Book covers
This was deffinately something new and exciting in terms of a project. I've never made book covers before, and I'm quite happy about how my paintings have adapted these classic books.
No more University. Woohoooo.
Photos from the end of year degree show coming soon. By soon I mean tomorrow hopefully...

My new/old sketchbook
At school, I remember traipsing around charity shops to find a book to reuse as a sketchbook. I decided to do this again for fun, and I found a beautiful little green book which I have finally started to fill in.

Sparta the Octopus.
Now up on www.threadless.com
Vote if you wanna see my painting on an awesome t-shirt.
Also entered for Illustration Friday.
Think it sums up the word of the week 'Height' pretty well. Two birds, one stone. :)

Late Christmas
Something I created to put on cards this year, and have only just re-earthed under all the work i've been producing this year.
Reminds me of Fox's glacier mints.
mmmmmm
Catch 22
Currently working on a few book covers.
If you haven't read the book, i'd definately recommend it, but only if you have A LOT of spare time on your hands. Its rather long. but good. :)

Painting women is weird.
Ive been painting Colin, the male life model for so long its crazy. Since I stayed in plymouth for Uni, he actually posed at my secondary school too.
Kinda strange when you think i've been seeing the same older man naked since I was about.. 16.
Anyways... we had a new model and it was very difficult at first. Men and women are very different in terms of curves.
Here is a quick 20 min painting I did, and its actually my favourite one of the session.
I need to learn when to stop overworking things...

Landscapes
I used to paint landscapes ALL THE TIME.
But now, since uni work is filled with animals and figures and acrylics, watercolours and landscapes feel like fun. Not really work at all. Its difficult when something you like doing as a hobby becomes work...
Anyway... a few couple A4 watercolours from a weekend.

Little Sister
Pretty much what it says on the tin.
This is an A2 painting of my little sister :)
Took about three and a half hours, and now I am exhausted!
Trying hard not to muddy my water too much and keep my colours fresh. Its harder than it seems when I use so much paint quite quickly layered up...
Pretty happy with the result. Lips are so hard to paint!
Also... I cannot draw to save my life. So heres a little snippet of how I start and construct my paintings with wide brushstrokes and bright colours.

Watercolours
I got money to buy new acrylics for christmas.
YAY NO EXCUSE NOT TO BE PRODUCTIVE!!!
Until I get my ass down to the shop... Ive been playing around with watercolours.
I like pushing the pigment around the water... manipulating the line and creating pocket like bits of colour.
Get the batik back out!!!

Yay fish.
(but I wont show you the fail fish... just this alright one. More to come)
